Scholarships
The Mustard Tree Foundation is a Georgia non-profit 501(c)(3) dedicated to providing funding, scholarships, and grant money to young people and families of young people with drug problems.
The drug problem among our youth is at epidemic proportions, and we believe that access to the best age-specific treatment options should not be determined by a family’s financial situation. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case.
As an organization that is 100% run by volunteers who have a personal connection to the issue, we exist to help bridge the financial gap for families who need it. If you’ve determined that The Insight Program is a good fit for you, but you can’t afford it, please reach out to us.
How does the Mustard Tree Foundation work?
We understand that grants for drug and alcohol treatment can be a time-sensitive issue. A typical application process goes as follows:
A young person struggling with addiction or a parent of a young person calls The Insight Program. Throughout the first phone call and/or appointment, they share that they cannot afford the program. However, they feel that the program would be a good fit for them, if they could afford it.
An in-person assessment is completed by the directors of the program. If they are determined to be a good fit for the program, the director will refer them to The Mustard Tree Foundation.
The applicant family is interviewed by the Director of the Mustard Tree Foundation. We will ask for information and tax returns.
The amount of financial need is put into dollars and sent to the Board for a quorum vote.
Once the award is approved, the Director notifies the applicant of the amount of the award. This is usually turned around in 24-48 hours.
A check is written to the program and to the recipient of the award!
