Sue Hansen, Director of The Mustard Tree Foundation.

Sue Hansen, Director

Sue found her passion in working with and educating children more than 20 years ago when she created a camp for children with autism. She has over 20 years of experience in non-profit experience, in running large schools to many Boards she has served on. Sue found herself emotionally involved in addiction in 2009 when her then 14 year old son struggled with the disease. After 2 unsuccessful attempts in programs here in the south, Zach was eventually enrolled in the Insight Enthusiastic Sobriety Program, Roswell, Georgia, (there are several Insight Programs in North Carolina too) where Zach found and kept sobriety and the family found peace and harmony. Addiction tears many families apart. Zach is now over 5 years sober and works for an addiction program helping others break from the disease and is currently enrolled in college. We got our son back thanks to Insight.  Her primary goal at the Mustard Tree Foundation is to help others be able to afford an addiction program with enthusiastic sobriety or graduates train as counselors.

Kerry Wyatt, a board member for The Mustard Tree Foundation.

Kerry Wyatt

I’m a happily married father of three. My life and everything in it are a constant source of gratitude I can pull from everyday but it wasn’t always this way. As a teenager, drugs and alcohol took over and put me on a path of destruction that would have very well taken my life had I not found recovery. I am one of the lucky ones. I was given the opportunity to change, I was introduced to God and an alternative path, recovery. 20 years later joining the mustard tree was one of the easiest and most exciting decisions of my life. I along with the others in this organization have been given another opportunity, to give back! I Understand first hand the hopelessness of addiction for the afflicted, the family and the relief in which recovery brings. Mustard tree allows me to serve in that process for others. To me that is an opportunity of a lifetime!
